Nissan & Xbox 360 Combine for One Funky Ride

Do you get bored on long trips during the rest stops? If you need sleep, the Nissan Urge may not be the car for you. But if you want video game action, start saving your money.

The Nissan Urge concept car allows drivers to play video games in their parked vehicle, using the steering wheel, gas and brakes as the game controller. The rear-view mirror folds down to reveal an LCD screen and the car's stereo speakers surround the driver with the sounds of the game. Microsoft's X-Box 360 will be the car's video game platform.

The Urge offers motor-cycle inspired styling and several unique features, such as retractable windows near the floorboards, which display the road beneath your feet and allow gresh air to enter the cabin, as well as a remote controlled rear seat. The driver can dock their MP3 player and cell phone. The cell works as a digital key, allowing the driver to start the car with a push button ignition.

The car is targeted in the United States to sell for $20,000. The Nissan Urge with the X-Box 360 was unveiled at the nation's biggest auto show in Detroit on January 8, 2006.

Make note that Mazda is also in the game. They showed off their Kabura, a tiny, funky MX-5-based coupe that reportedly is a mix of the RX-8 and DB9.
