"Kama Sutra" Computer Virus Strikes!

It sounds seductive--but beware! Security experts are warning a computer virus, or worm, dubbed "Kama Sutra" is set to wreak havoc worldwide on Friday, Feb. 3rd.

Named after the Sanskrit book on love and sex--the virus is disguised in sexy e-mail messages with illicit titles. Once you click on the attachment the virus goes to work, destroying documents and corrupting files. From there it will email itself to everyone in your address book.

"Kama Sutra" will only affect computers running on the Microsoft System--tearing through files on Microsoft Windows Office as well as Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, Excel spread sheets, photo files and PDF files.

The worm is set to strike on February 3rd, 2006. It's also programmed to do destruction on the third day of every month thereafter. Experts say that its primary purpose is to destroy files rather than seek financial gain or take control of a computer. This worm has more destructive properties than previous worms in that it not only erases files (these can sometimes be recovered), but also overwrites the files, causing the information to go missing forever.
