Come on Roseburg fans. Lose with class. This 14 year old team has always lacked the attitude to get them to that next level. Keep your heads up and play hard. Roseburg Dad...........

First of all, to have the games broadcast is great ... thank you Jason Hink. The comment section can also be fun, but as I read through it this morning I was both saddened and digusted. Lewiston ... the actual Roseburg TEAM respects you as players and in the name of competition would geniunely like to play you this week. Astoria, great game! I am embarrassed at the immaturity of some of our fans. This Roseburg team is a bunch of good kids who truly enjoy playing together and playing the game of baseball. It is those few around us in the stands and on this website who are trying to impose a "cocky" attitude upon us. They have good days and bad days like the rest of the field. If they will be allowed to play their game without the help of the fans, they will do great. It's anyone's trip to North Carolina. That's the beauty of baseball.

Some of you have forgot that this is baseball, and that sportsmanship is #1. It saddens me to hear all the trash talk. Also again it being baseball any thing can happen on any given day. All this talk about Roseburg and Lewiston has is getting old. There are a few more teams out there you cant count out Astoria{ 3 time state champions 2nd and third at regionals last 2 years and stronger than ever]Kitsap {3 and 0 and from a strong region} Tri cities {12 yr old regional champions and did OK at the world series ) Go Astoria

Central Kitsap's game has nothing to do with whether or not Roseburg is in the semi finals. It is Roseburg's game against Torrington Wyoming that will decide if Roseburg goes to the semi finals or not.

Roseburg still cant keep their mouths shut. I sure hope someone shuts it for them. They arent that good. It's only because of their high society parents that keepit going for them. If your a little guy you would never make it now matter how good you are. They are a bunch of high rolling hipocrits.

Nice Site - We're sorry... this station has reached its maximum listeners at this time. We encourage you to try back again a bit later. = Any way to expand?

  • At 3:21 PM, JasonHink.com said…

    Hello comment posters --
Thanks for visiting the site and keeping up with the tournament. For those of you trying to listen in, there is a cap on the amount of listeners allowed to hear the broadcast simultaneously. I've tried in vain to get this lifted for the tournament, but on such short notice I've been unsuccessful in my contact with the company that provides the service.

Basically, it costs more money to allow the expansion, though I was under the impression that I didn't have a cap. I was wrong.

We will keep the site updated with scores as always. My apologies to those who have tried to tune in but couldn't because of the cap.

Thanks to those of you who have visited the web site.

I am a Roseburg fan, and I am disgusted with how our fans are behaving and treating this regional tournament. We are being everything that we have accused others of being. I am embarrassed and I have to say we DO NOT deserve to win....not with the attitudes that we are expressing on this web sight. Fun is fun but we are crossing the line. Kitsap,
Lewiston, Butte, Canada, Wyoming...ect... they all worked hard to get here and deserve to be here. When will class start to shine over arrogance on this web sight??? Good Luck and a safe trip to all the families that came to our town this week.

i think that its sad how some of the roseburg fans havent forgot the past and moved on. its sad the (FANS) cant lose or win this year with class. today in the semi-final game, roseburg played better baseball than lewiston. i hope they are successful throughout the tournament and through the rest of their season. great tournament lewiston, good luck roseburg and kennewick.

    brian taylor, lewiston idaho player

thank you Brian Taylor a little class has entered the site!!

  • At 4:38 PM, Anonymous said…

    You go Brian Taylor!!!

  • At 4:39 PM, Anonymous said…

The last posting by Brian Taylor is just one example of the class that Lewiston players bring to the game. I was also impressed by the earlier posting from the Roseburg player. We wish the best of luck to the two remaining teams and know that either of them will represent our region well.

As for all the naysayers about Lewiston from Idaho, everyone reading this blog needs to know that Lewiston won every game but one at their state tourney by ten runs or more and went through the tourney undefeated. I think that this shows that they were indeed the best Idaho has to offer this year. Who knows, in a year that might change. Good luck to all who play and respect the game and to those of you who have shown your true classless colors, get a life.

I congratulate Roseberg on winning the PNW Regionals and wish the team luck at the "Big Show". However, I sincerely believe their victory over Lewiston was tainted. As the game progressed it became more and more clear that Lewiston was playing a 10-man team, the 10th man being the plate umpire. Up until Wednesday, in every game I had watched, the umping appeared fair and unbiased. But in the Lewiston-Roseberg game that all changed. I do not have any problem with Lewiston losing, since the way the team played they should have lost that game. I do have a problem with an ump who appears to have sold his soul and integrity to ensure that Roseberg did not lose to Lewiston 2 years in a row. I also understand the pressure that was upon said ump. He lived in the area and worked for a local forest industries company and therefore must have felt he had to do what he did. I pray he spends the rest of his waking life thinking about it, especially whenever he hears the words "Lewiston" or "baseball". Again, I will state for the record that the way our Lewiston team played we probably should of lost, but in my opinion the game was not 100% fair. I guess it just bad luck on our part for drawing that home plate ump in that particular game. For the record I will also state that I forgive him. Good luck, Roseberg.

To the Lewiston Dad who THINKS the Roseburg vs. Lewiston game was tainted, well you are just not great at losing. Most of those umpires were not even from Roseburg and the ump behind the plate called a fair game in both directions. I think the problem is that the ump almost kicked one of the Lewiston coaches out of the game cuz he would not keep his mouth shut. Roseburg just played their hardest and congrats to Roseburg's pitcher for throwing a great game, and to the pitcher in the championship game for roseburg. Some people said those boys threw the best games of their lives that day. Well Lewiston Dad dont blame the umpires cuz they were fair in both directions. Good luck to Roseburg in the World Series.

I was the Starting pitcher for lewiston yesterday against roseburg and to the anonymous person above the umps were not fair but thats not the reason we lost we played bad and stuff just didnt go our ways. I love how people like to talk crap on this its very funny to look at. the pitcher for roseburg pitched a great game and i would like to congratulate him and i would also like to congratulate the rest of the team. You guys are a great team and i hope to play you guys again sometime. Also to the all the people who called us cocky you dont even know what u are talkin about because i bet every single team here thought they could win this tournament. Good Luck to Roseburg go and represent the Northwest

roseburg played better then idaho.. thats why they won.. there were bad calls on both sides.. stop complaining about something that shouldnt even be a factor of the game. if u lose, u lose. there were plenty of other chances you could have got to make it so the umping wouldnt even make a difference in the game.. roseburg had horrible umps against north oregon. it wasnt the reason they lost tho.. its because they didnt play good enough to get over the umping and win it with no complaints. so thats the bottom line is roseburg played better then idaho so idaho lost

Well, not much to say but congrats to Roseburg and have fun in NC. I played for the Kennewick team and I'm still trying to get over how close we got to going to the WS but yet we couldn't wrap it up. You guys played two very classy games against us and didn't talk a bunch of crap (unlike your fans). I still don't think we played our best game, but I don't know if you guys did either (both teams had a few errors). Like someone else said, we have never lost twice in a Babe Ruth tournament. Anyways, good luck at the show and win state next year so we can play you guys again.

Congratulations to the Roseburg 14s... Jason great job on covering the tournament many family, friends and fans were able to tune in locally and back home. I just have one thing it’s very sad when there is more sportsmanship by these 14 year-olds on the field then there is in your comments; some by adults. I’m also saddened that almost everyone including the paper counted Kennewick out, and that Roseburg and Astoria where the power houses in the pool. Kennewick was crushing teams. They were also the only team to face Roseburg’s (ace pitcher) Brandon #7 and they face him twice, once in pool play and the other time in the championship; he was dead on in both games. My hat goes off to Brandon the coaches and the team. I only have one suggestion for future reference as important as this game was (going to the World Series) it should have been played the next morning and not the same day as the semi’s. I have never seen this in my years of baseball at his level. These semifinal games were not only physically draining but they are mentally draining for the kids as well. This would have been the right thing to do… everyone forgets who this is for they thought of the Roseburg fans so they could come watch at 5:30PM and gave no thought to these 14 year-old boy who have been sweating, practicing and playing there hearts out for the last two months all over the NW. There were no double headers through Districts or State. Why now? Kennewick only had 45 minutes to rest and get a bite to eat between playing Central Kitsap, a tough team, and the championship game; you could tell by their play they were zapped and not 100%. It would be different if everyone played double headers throughout these tournaments but they don’t. I would say the same if things were flip-flopped and Roseburg had the later game. It was not fair to those kids but again Roseburg pulled it off - and I wish them the best in NC at the World Series they will represent the Pacific NW well.

Thank you to the host families of the Lewiston team. They went above and beyond to make sure that our kids were well cared for and ready to play. A special thanks to Rick and Bones and Joey. Also thanks to all of the volunteers that put in countless hours to make sure that the field and grounds were ready to go.

There is a reason that we actually step on the field to play the game - it's not won in the paper, or on the internet. It must be won on the field of play. We as parents should be all extremely proud of the way that our children handle competition and the stressful situations that they are put in. Not only should we be proud, but it may not be a bad idea to take a lesson from them. It is really easy to get caught up in the heat of the moment and express your elation for your childs sucesses, but remember that on the other side is a child trying to face his disappointments with the maturity well beyond his years.

Congratulations to Roseburg on their Regional Championship. We had the honor to represent our region last year and had a fantastic experience. I hope that you too have a wonderful time. I have no doubt that you will represent the Pacific Northwest with the uptmost of dignity and with a hard playing, well coached baseball team. Remember that when the kids are grown, they might remember the scores, but they may mostly remember the time spent with the host families, their own families and the experience of getting there. Good Luck and have a great time.

Hey! Don't make us come back with our hockey sticks next year. If baseball isn't our sport, then how come our national team killed the US's in the WBC? Yeah, what now!
